Built-in Facelift

Kelly was gone to a wedding in St. Louis this last weekend.  I thought I would try to surprise her by giving the built-in in our dining room a facelift.  I must say I thought this would be a daunting task, honestly, it was a lot of work, but very simple today.  There is no need for fancy kits to do this stuff.  A little research and time and you can get this stuff done on the cheap!

Materials:

Bottle of Totally Awesome @dollartree
120grit sandpaper
A few foam paint rollers
Killz Oil Based Primer
One gallon Colorplace Satin Grab and Go Paint
Minwax Polycrylic

Steps:

  1. Remove Hardware
  2. Clean the wood
  3. Sand the wood
  4. Wash sawdust off
  5. Prime it...2 coats
  6. Paint it...2 or 3 coats
  7. Seal with Polycrylic on flat or touched surfaces
Sanded

One coat Killz Primer

Two coats Killz Primer (almost looks finished huh?)

Three coats Colorplace Satin Paint
Two coats Minwax Polycrylic
